This past week was my first full week spent alone in my health district–Tororo. I hit the ground running and immediately became part of the TASO family. TASO, or The AIDS Service Organization, is an NGO (non-governmental organization) dedicated to providing counseling and medical services to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. I was placed under the medical coordinator–Irene–who will serve as my direct supervisor. Everyone is very nice. Staff members are quick to bring me along to visit a patient in the hospital or observe a counseling session. I’ve begun formulating my project, which has given me peace of mind, clarity, and direction. Yesterday, I spent some time outdoors rock climbing. It was fun! I had great guides for the journey and the view was definitely worth it.
Until next time!
