Taipei from a New Perspective

Taipei 101, June 6th 2017
Elephant Mountain, August 13th 2017

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. T. S. Eliot

To commemorate our first day in Taiwan, we visited Taipei 101 and zoomed through all 101 floors to catch a glimpse of the scenic view the skyscraper had to offer. On our final day we climbed up the steep stairs of elephant mountain where we had an ethereal view of that same grand tower that stands tall as a proud symbol to Taipei.

In that moment on elephant mountain, I couldn’t help but think to myself how heartwarming it was that we were back to where we started but this time viewing the city from a new perspective.

My friend Cin accompanied us to Taipei where we met up with her for dinner and elephant mountain.

This has been such an incredible summer! I appreciate this entire experience and all the wonderful beings I had the pleasure of crossing paths with. Kaohsiung has been so kind to us and I’m going to miss everything ranging from the thoughtful walks to the MRT to the vast number of aesthetic cafes in Aozidi and the lovely sunsets this country has to offer. I’m going to miss my lab mates, roommates and all the friends I have made. They all have left such a positive imprint on my experience here.

Taiwan I will miss you dearly. Thank you for everything.

Farewell and best wishes,
