The longest day in the lab I have ever experienced was on a Saturday. My lab mentor and I had to work on the weekend to get venom ready to test on a new batch of mice. We had to run HPLC re purification on different fractions of sea anemone. We arrived at the lab at 8am and didn’t finish our project until 11pm. We were able to play cards and tell jokes during the process. The day was not hard, but very time consuming. I am glad that my lab mentor is a chill person that likes to crack jokes, play cards, and tell stories; otherwise this long day would have been horribly boring. We also worked on Sunday because we were exhausted and unable to finish the project on Saturday.
